LEAD SUPPORT WORKER

Location:Ealing

Salary:£10.33 per hour

Contract type:Permanent - Full Time 37.5 hours per week

The people they support will also have a sensory or learning disability, physical disabilities, complex health needs or mental health difficulties. The combination of these needs will require an individual who will be open-minded and patience.

You will facilitate the development of the people we support, so that they can lead full and active lives within the community.

To be a successful Support Worker you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience of supporting people who have learning disabilities to become more active in their community
  • Experience of Key/Link Working with individuals and of enabling people with learning disability to take positive risks in the lives
  • Experience of mentoring/supervising/coaching others
  • Experience of building great relationships which promotes inclusion for people with learning disabilities
  • Understanding the challenges that are likely to be faced by many people with disabilities
  • Knowledge of safeguarding

The job entails you working on a rota system in the event of staff holidays / sickness etc., which will include:

  • Work at weekends
  • Work at evenings
  • Work on bank holidays
  • Work outside of normal hours
  • Work at different services within the borough
  • We will trust you to:
  • build great relationships with the people we support;
  • help them tackle their challenges and achieve their goals.
  • observe change within the individual’s circumstances and respond accordingly
  • ensure effective day to day management of colleagues including effective activity delegation
